Todd Brewer, a long-time contributor to the Mockingbird blog, is the Assistant Professor of New Testament at the General Theological Seminary in New York City. Todd joined the faculty of General Seminary in the fall of 2015, having previously served at churches in New Jersey, England, and Pittsburgh. Todd earned his Phd in New Testament at Durham University in England. His research interests include Pauline theology as well as early Gospel literature, particularly issues of Christology and Jewish thought. His book Hermeneutics and Early Christian Gospels came out in the fall of 2016 and examined the interpretation of parables in the Gospels of Thomas, Matthew, Mark, and Luke. He also edited and contributed to the book, Comfortable Words: Essays in Honor of Paul F.M. Zahl.
