M. Blake Connelly, PH.D. (he/him/his) is the Senior AP English Literature and British Literature instructor at Jenks High School, where he has served for over a decade. Blake was named the District Teacher of the Year for Jenks Public Schools in 2013. His academic interests include the intersectionality of religion and literature as well as the continuing legacy of British Romanticism. After studying theology and literature at Princeton Seminary and continuing to teach high schoolers at Jenks, he recently graduated with his Doctorate in British Romanticism from the University of Tulsa. Blake believes in the importance of quality literature for one’s spiritual development and rejects the strict sacred / secular dichotomy that some place on certain books and films. His dream dinner party would be to discuss life, literature and theology with Kierkegaard, Toni Morrison, Lord Byron and Mary Shelley.
