Dr. Dan van Voorhis is a historian and scholar-in-residence with 1517. He received his PhD from the University of St. Andrews (UK) and taught at Concordia University in Irvine California. There he served as a professor, department chair and Assistant Dean in the school of Arts and Sciences. Since 2019 he has been the host of the podcast “The Christian History Almanac” a 6-8 minute daily podcast with a 30ish minute Weekend Edition. He is married to Beth Anne, a librarian, and they are parents to two sons: Coert (14) and Raymond (11).
