Denise McKinney is the Lead Pastor/Church Planter of The Well in Tulsa, OK where dinner church is the central expression of their faith community. Shaped by a childhood growing up alongside foster children, Denise has journeyed the road of faith with students and adults in youth, worship and spiritual formation ministry for over twenty-five years. She also serves as Vice-Chair on the board of The One America Movement, a national non-profit confronting toxic polarization in our society. Denise studied vocal performance in college, graduated from North Park Theological Seminary and holds a Certificate in Youth Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. She is the author of the book Mile Markers: A Path for Nurturing Adolescent Faith, a self-published Christmas devotional called Northstar: Finding Our Way Home to God and numerous published articles including her most recent project, Always Room for One More: The Holy Invitation of a Loud and Messy Welcome, coming out late 2021. Denise and her husband Gary do life together with their two kids, Lanie and Garrison. When not doing the job she loves, you can find Denise on the Tulsa trails with her running group or working on a song at the piano.
