Ken Sundet Jones serves as the Gerhard O. Forde Professor of Church History and Theology at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. As the author of A Lutheran Toolkit and dozens of articles for both Mockingbird and 1517, he flies as low to the ground as possible. Although he has a PhD in Reformation studies, he’s less concerned with academia than with popular culture and his brain is a storehouse of lyrics of cheesy ’70’s one-hit wonders. He’s currently translating a German chronology of Martin Luther’s life and working his way through twenty-two seasons of America’s Test Kitchen recipes. After their kid grew up and their beloved dog died, he discovered he and his wife had become cat people. If all that weren’t reason enough for his gnawing hunger for the gospel, he grew up in Sturgis, South Dakota, whose motorcycle rally taught him too much about the world.
